There are people who believe robots toys for adults. There are people who “play robots” so professional, that make scientific and technological progress to move twice as fast. There are people who “observe” the development of robots with the position of high art.
American artist Oliver Pauels belongs probably to the third category of this conditional graduation. And the sculpture that he creates, can shock and the first and second and third. Pauels mechanisms stuffed baby dolls, which are invariably associated with every person with something good, tender, gentle and defenseless. That is, with childhood. Oliver Pauels cynically breaks these associations.
Interpretations of this approach can be very different. Moreover, contemporary art tends more to raise questions than having the answers. How will the human race in the near future, if the robot already so tightly come into our lives? Learn whether robots reproduce themselves? As will be developed in principle, the relationship between man and robot? In general, the issues – and not only these! – Remain open. Perhaps, looking at the dolls robots, you have, and their associations?
