Two Japanese companies Kawada Industries Inc. and General Robotix Inc teamed up to develop the robot. Robot created a company Kawada Industries, a company General Robotix developed software.

The developers recently presented their findings – a robot HIRO (Human Interactive Robot). As planned by developer companies the main purpose of the robot – a platform for a variety of robotic research and development of new robots.

Dimensions robot height – 1,57 x 0,5 m x 0,5 m Weight – 85 kg.
HIRO has 15 degrees of freedom and a solid value – about $ 77 thousand.
