Snackbot robot wanders about the confusing corridors of a research institute and offers coffee and muffins scientist, always preoccupied with global problems. Such an idea has to embody a group of designers from the Research Center of Carnegie Mellon (USA) Sara Kiesler and Jodi Forlizzi (Human Computer Interaction Institute) and Paul Ribski (Robotics Institute).
Work on the robot Snackbot began in mid-2008. Today, the waiter, “without fear or reproach,” have learned kindness of everybody. With special alloy multidatchikov, he can build three-dimensional image space to detect and recognize objects, ie, “customers” and elementary “communicate”.
