Toshiba is March 10, 2010 at the Science Museum introduced
its new two-wheeled autonomous robot prototype Wheelie. The robot was designed
to help people at home, so is small and uses Segway with a pair of small
retractable wheels that can be brought forward if necessary. Technology Segway
will help minimize the size of the robot so that it can move freely in the
limited space of an apartment or house, and move on raznovysotnomu floor.
The robot has stereokamery in his head and a laser rangefinder in the chest,
allowing the robot to avoid obstacles Wheelie quietly.
While its functionality is not very high, as seen in the video, the robot can
freely be down food, drinks, utensils in the home. In general, very similar to
the "self-propelled chair" or "self-moving table. However, much more expensive.
